+ Mrs. Lovett - By the sea dress - Make over +

As said in the title, i am going to Make over my Mrs. Lovett dress.
It was the first cosplay i've ever sewn, and i was so proud that day.
But now I am looking back, and i am kinda ashamed. >___> it is soo messy!!
And not even finished.

Since i have not the money to sew a whole new cosplay, i decided to make this mess into a beautiful piece.
this is only part one, and it still need a lot of work. But i thought i would share the first make-over steps with you.

On the left side you manly see the work in progres, and on the ride side the sewing steps.

First picture is me with my sweeney at the first con wearing it. The second picture is just a close up, of the part i am going to reconstruct.

I numbered my steps:

1. First of all i cut and overlocked the whole thing again, to make the edges nice and clean. (and to get rid of this aweful ruffle).

2. Just a picture of the cleaned edge

3. Sewing the new throw (with the slanting stripes), on the one with the straight stripes. Like on her original dress. (i just didnt had enough fabric the first time i sew the dress)

4. A progress picture.

5. Sewing a lacy ruffle over the seam. Later i will put another braid over it. (just hadn't the time to buy it yet).

6. Another progress picture. ^^

7. Sewing the lacy ruffle all over the red part of her jacket. To make it look like in the original dress. I went Zig-Zag all over the place!

When i have more time, i will go on with this project - i want to finish it till october for the MMC (Mega Manga Convention) in Berlin.
